About

About Artist Statement
I create abstract, visionary and surrealist art through unique nature photographs. I am interested in mapping unconscious realms by means of photography and various reflection techniques. Creating art is a natural form of communication and therapy for me. I use the camera lens to express a mixture of inspiration, spirituality and fascination. I have always been intrigued by mysterious topics like the unconscious mind, existentialism, mythology and the origins of nature.

My abstract nature photography is created while hiking and exploring after my inhibitions have freely dissipated. During this naturally heightened and relaxed state, I become in tune with my surroundings and breathe in the experience. I then search for metaphors within organic subjects such as lichen, silt, sand and rock. Above all, I am hunting for evidence of wisdom through an abstract natural vision.

The reflection montage work is a culmination of artistic, natural, psychological, mystical and religious explorations. The reflections represent personal experiences as well as possible insights into the collective unconscious. The montages are created by reflecting abstract nature photographs without use of layering or filter manipulations. From capture to reflection my process requires minimal use of photoshop.

I believe that we may be able to psychically find answers within nature through acute observation and reflection techniques. My art is an organic means to meditate and contemplate ancient ideas, beliefs and truths which have become either hidden or forgotten. I create off trail in the Green Mountain’s of Vermont, USA, surrounded by nature.
